Latin America Makes an Impact at Copenhagen Amidst Conflicting Charges of Lula’s Leadership and ALBA’s Deep Dissatisfaction

England’s officials criticism China and the ALBA countries (Venezuela, Bolivia, Nicaragua and Cuba) for hindering the attempts to reach a legally binding agreement. Obama administration doesn’t escape criticism either, Lula and the South American countries reproach Obama the rigidness in his negotiating and the feeble gas reduction targets that the United States set. The Copenhagen summit resulted in an accord that Washington optimistically called “an important breakthrough” in spite of heavy criticism.
